A Victorian Charm

I can't help but notice the abundance of victorian and vintage styled clothing trending across the fashion industry. The popularity of all things ultra-feminine is increasing rapidly. Blending of these two styles has created a surge in delicate, ladylike ensembles which compliments beautifully when combined with a 21'st century edge. Once again I collaborated with my favourite fashion photographer & photoshop wiz Matryoshka, and luxury womenswear designer Melissa Bui for this shoot (need I say more…).

Melissa Bui's Auriga Top was a great way to subtly sport the feminine persona. I love the bow detailing with lace and pink embroidery because I find it very intricate and romantic. To contrast this gorgeous ladylike top I wore a fitted high slit sequins pencil skirt expressing the independent 21st century high street fashion glamour girl. The studded shoes lean more towards a gothic style than simply just being pretty or girly, but the beige colour of the shoes is the soft touch that brings together whole look.

I love this Kate Spade bag because it is so RETRO.... By now you might be saying that I’m clearly trying to adopt as many trends into this one look (.. hey why not?) The license plate on the bag is the looks talking point and the most unique item here; in fact it’s the perfect accessory to explore the vintage and Victorian focus of the shoot not to mention very appropriate for any new bride to be! Last but not least I accessorised with this traditional pearl Victorian charm choker, concluding my diverse and experimental outfit of the day.

High Necks & Spandex

This fall is all about turtlenecks! I know going sleeveless whilst rocking a super high neckline is a bit of an oxymoron yet it’s perfect for a smart-casual look. I wanted to try something new this season and I found it in the freshness and edginess of turtlenecks. They've been around for ages, but I always shied away from them ... however now I just want to - sorry NEED to stock my wardrobe with different variations!

Here I am wearing wine coloured turtle neck knitwear from Zara, which is a gorgeous colour to mimic the fall season. So I thought to spice this look up further by styling it with a black 90s lace biking shorts. The 90s has always been a long standing favourite era, I may be a little biased cause I am after all a 90s baby but it was still one of the coolest eras of fashion in my books! I mean which girl didn't LOVE watching “Clueless” growing up? The movie literally defined the generation of 90s girls and I’m bringing it back with my biking shorts, just like the ones in “Clueless” when you see the iconic spandex moment when the girls are at gym class!

Blue Instincts

This week I've had the pleasure of collaborating with luxury womenswear designer Melissa Bui and Hong Kong's infamous fashion photographer Matryoshka. A director at  the Academy of Design in Hong Kong, Matryoshka is a veteran in the circuit of Fashion Image Styling, Fashion Design & Portfolio, Fashion Merchandising & Photoshopping/Retouching.  For those of you interested in gaining first hand insights of knowledge and experience in the fashion world, I highly recommend signing up for a class at the Academy of Design.

Now on to the OOTD...

Out of all of the types of skirts out there, my absolute favourite has to be a skater skirt. Not only are they flattering for all body types but there easy to style.

This gorgeous blue skirt is by designer Melissa Bui. Her trademark specialty is in intricate embroidery design, which sets her collection apart from other designers. I've chosen to style this skirt on the dressier side, pairing it with a midnight blue velvet backless crop top, creating emphasis on the contrasting orange embroidery details of the skirt - creating a very regal look overall. To compliment the orange embroidery, I've matched it with my favourite orange Tassel heels.

You can easily go for a casual summer breezy look by matching this skater skirt with a white loose tank or tucking in a white chambray shirt. Being so versatile, its definitely a wardrobe investment!

The rose uncut diamond earrings I'm wearing are from L'Dezen and I especially love the shape of these earrings. The crystal shells bring the whole look together by showing off high street luxury in a cool and creative fashion. For any young trendsetter, a pair of L'Dezen earrings is an excellent addition to your accessories; the brand has a knack for being the final ingredient for any look.

Last but not least my favourite part of this look is my "Milk Carton" bag, I have been dying to share this unique handbag with all my fellow fashionista's!! I mean can you blame me, it's so Chanel-like!
